Angel Tree

Each year, Epiphany collects toys during the Advent Season for underprivileged children in our community. Chandler firefighters and volunteers deliver all donated toys to the Chandler CARE Center, where they are presented to disadvantaged children who have been identified through the staff at each Chandler Unified School District elementary school.

 

 

Sometimes when we preach and proclaim the love of Christ to our family, friends, neighbors and co-workers, we use words. Most of the time, the message comes from our lives and the work of service to others. Our efforts include:
 
  • Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank: 
Here is a fellowship opportunity to assist with various needs of this food bank. Our volunteers meet at Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank two times per month, the 2nd Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm and the 2nd Friday from 9-12:00pm, at 1368 N Arizona Ave, Ste 112. Visit their site to learn more:
 
  • ICAN: 
Come join in the fun of ICAN’s, “Me and My Family Night”, held the 1st Wednesday of each month from August thru May; the hours are 4:30-6:30pm. All ages (above 5) are welcome to join in the festivities of volunteering your time to make these fun nights a hit!   • Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School Tutoring and Art Masterpiece
We tutor children at a local elementary school to practice and assist the children with their reading skills, during school hours. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9:00-11:00am and 1:00-3:00pm at Hartford Elementary, located at 700 N Hartford, Chandler.  The Art Masterpiece opportunity is 6 sessions per year and all supplies are provided, so please sign up!      I-HELP

I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) provides over 6,700 emergency shelter nights to homeless adults and a case management program successfully supporting nearly 50% of clients to employment and over 30% to housing.

 I-HELP provides a safe place to sleep and a hot meal for homeless adults every night of the week. I-HELP also offers case management services to connect homeless individuals to the vital resources needed to regain stability and break the vicious cycle of homelessness. The mobile shower unit, the “Chandler Clean Machine,” provides guests with ready access to a warm shower.

 

To Volunteer with Epiphany:

 Volunteers buy food, cook it at home, and bring it to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Holy Trinity is located at 739 W Erie ST, Chandler, 85225.  Enter the Kitchen’s orange door off of Flint ST.  Volunteers them serve the meal, eat with clients, and clean up afterwards.  The menu varies each month.  To volunteer, contact Danielle Goddard at outreach@EpiphanyChandler.org

Habitat for Humanity

Epiphany’s annual participation in the Lutheran’s Building for Christ Coalition with Habitat for Humanity will be a house in Mesa this year.
 
Our first build day is Saturday, January 9, 2016. Volunteers will be needed on the job site each Saturday starting on the 9th of January.
