About Us

Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Epiphany Lutheran Church is to share real hope for today’s lives through Jesus Christ. Epiphany is a growing and dynamic church that makes a spiritual difference through Jesus Christ in the lives of its members, guests, community and beyond.

Our Values

  • Worship – We value and celebrate a variety of worship services that are Christ centered, gathered around Word and Sacraments, and honor the heritage of the Lutheran Church
  • Spiritual Growth – We value personal spiritual growth and maturing in the Christian faith.
  • Personal Stewardship – We value freely giving of our time, talents and treasures in response to God’s grace.
  • Expanding God’s Kingdom – We value sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the growth of His congregation at Epiphany, and extending His ministry into our community and beyond.
Our History
Epiphany Lutheran Church celebrated it’s 58th Anniversary this past January. It was born when four families met together on Epiphany Day, January 6, 1964 with a desire to start a Lutheran Church in Chandler, AZ. With a modest beginning, they held their first service on February 16, 1964 in the Chandler Women’s Club on North Colorado Street. The early services were led by Pastor Thomas Jacobsen. Services were later conducted in Chandler Junior High School from August 1964 to August 1968. In November 1964, the property at 800 W. Ray Rd. was purchased from the Knox family. The church and small fellowship/administration building were dedicated on October 29, 1968. Since the early days, Epiphany has been a vital part of the Chandler community through service and spiritual renewal. We continue to serve through many outreach events.

What We Believe

Epiphany Lutheran Church, as part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), is a mission-oriented, Bible-based, confessional Christian denomination.  Our historical roots go back to the Reformation and the work of Martin Luther.

For more information about our beliefs, check out the LCMS website that has the information you need to answer your questions. If it doesn’t, feel free to contact Pastor Mark at PastorMark@EpiphanyChandler.org. He loves answering any questions you may have about God, the church and any other issues or challenges you may have.

The LCMS Today

Today, the LCMS church has over 2.3 million baptized members in more than 6,100 congregations and over 9,000 pastors. We have two seminaries and 10 universities that are under the LCMS banner and we operate the largest Protestant parochial school system in the United States. We are serving in over 90 countries worldwide as active missionaries and, in the last five years alone, LCMS has awarded over $35 million for emergency and disaster response. And we perform this work only for the glory of God as we look to reflect His love to those around us.
